Angelwings Tech Extreme Speed Pony Car Track Day Series

Are there any road course racers out there? I'm attending a series of 8 track days at 5 venues (4 in So Cal, 1 in Nevada) in 2012 and would like you to join me. We're offering discounts on the registration fees for all participants, coupons for further discounts for each division winner at each event, and prizes for the series champions.

The Angelwings Tech Extreme Speed Track Day Series kicks off on Sat. Feb. 25th at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. The cost is $180 for a full day of track time with a transponder. The cost drops if we get 9 participants or more.

The series is open to all Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers running on street-legal tires. Convertibles must meet the track's rollover protection requirements. There will be both stock and modified divisions. The championship will be based upon each participants top 5 finishes, so you do not have to attend all 8 events to be in the running. Or just take advantage of the discounts and come out for a couple of the events. Beginners are welcome! But I warn you - track time is extremely addictive!

Go to the BLOG at www.angelwingstech.com for the series schedule. Email me at craig@angelwingstech.com for the division definitions and the "perks" list, or if you have questions.

We will have Camaros at the events. Here's your chance to defend the Blue Oval!

I'm working on adding a major sponsor for the Series, which will dramatically increase the "perks" to all participants. I hope to have great new soon! Who is up for it?

Last call for the first event of the Series, Chuckwalla Valley Raceway on Sat. Feb. 25. With one more registration, the cost will drop to $165, including a transponder - a savings of $35. If we get two more, it will be just $150 per person! I need to hear from you now! Email me at craig@angelwingstech.com.

If you aren't able to make the first event of the Angelwings Tech Extreme Speed Pony Car Track Day Series, you can begin registering for the second. It will take place on Sat. March 31 & Sun. April 1 at Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, NV. You can sign up for either or both days and get a 14% discount on the track time and a transponder. If we get to 15 participants, the discount is 21%. That would mean two full days of track time on what I believe is the best road course in the West, plus a transponder for both days for only $325!

Most of us will be staying at the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (formerly the LV Hilton), where we will get a discounted room rate, VIP check-in, food and beverage discount coupons, a $10 gaming chip, and special secure parking in the north tower.

Email me at craig@angelwingstech.com for the track day registration link and discount code and the hotel registration link.

Anyone interested in joining us at Spring Mountain for event number two of the Series? If not, the May 26 track day at Streets of Willow is looking like it will be well attended by Camaro owners. Sure would like to see some Stangs take them on! I'm hoping to be able to offer the track time and a transponder for under $100, but I'm still weaiting to hear back from Extreme Speed. Send me an email to craig@angelwingstech.com to get your name on the Series info list.

I'll have to check my bank account, that last event really drained me of cash. When do we have until to register?

I received word on Sat. that the Streets of Willow event scheduled for May 26 has been canceled. We had no say in the matter. We are replacing that date with a two-day event at Buttonwillow on June 2 and 3. You can join us for one day for $120 (including the transponder), or both days for $210.

Sorry about the cancelation, but we do still have two events scheduled for Streets, in August and in December.

If you're interested in joining us at Spring Mountain on March 31 and/or April 1, you need to be registering now! I have all of the details.

Sounds good to me. Once I get done with deployment. Racing seats and road racing tires will be on. And I will be HUNTING DOWN EVERYTHING!

How aggressive do people usually drive on these tracks? I want to race but don't want to ruin my daily driver by getting side swiped etc.

Drivers on these tracks are usually very respectable. They have a code of ethic and pretty much go by it. Trust me, there are Ferraris and Lambos and Porshes out there racing. They sure don't want to mess those cars up.

I would love to go just can't scrounge up enough cash to drive 5 hours there and hotel etc and five hours back. If you know of anything closer to 29 palms that WS is doing I'm trying to get involved, I'm up for anything.

No worries, totally understandable. Some of us will be heading up to Victorville for a car show on May 12th. We're going to be up there on Friday the 11th. Plan to get together and hangout in Victorville Friday night. So, if you are up for it, come join us. More detail will follow as the date gets closer.

X2 on what Subz said they are pretty good on the courses. They are all point to pass if your in the beginner or intermediate, once you get to advanced Race cars are on the track and they just are awesome! Ah some day I will be in the race prepped class and tagged as "advanced"!

All of the track day organizers have very strict rules regarding passing. No one wants to get a rep for being a jerk or doing something stupid. We're all just out there having fun. My car is also my daily driver. You don't need to have a dedicated track car or spend gobs of money to have fun.

The main purpose behind having the Angelwings Tech Extreme Speed Pony Car Series is to develop friendships and get a group discount. Our next event is at Buttonwillow on June 2nd and 3rd. You can run one day for $120 or both for $210, including a transponder. I'm staying at the Courtyard in Bakersfield. Their AAA rate is $80 per night. So the whole weekend will run me around $600 with gas and food. Not cheap, but SO worth it!

I'll be posting the registration info in the next couple of days. I hope to see a few Wicked Stangs out on the track. The leader in the Modified Pony Car division is being deployed for a few months, so there's a good opportunity to catch up on his point total. The Stock and Supermodified divisions are wide open.

We have events scheduled for Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Willow Springs (twice) and Streets of Willow (twice). Send an email to craig@angelwingstech.com and I'll send you the schedule, division definitions, points summary and the list of "perks" for joining the Series.
