Camaro??

Here is a possible look at the next generation of Mustang. Looks like the rendering came from a magazine publisher, not Ford. Either way it looks to much like the Camaro for my taste.

meh yeah it looks kinda like the camaro but it would be sweet if they brought back the hatch thats something thats way over due

I believe the back of the car will change dramatically, but the rear quarter panels are not right. Ford would not put high back quarter panels on any of their cars.

eh idk.. ford went box style then round style 94-04 then back to box-ish style.. with all the aerodynamix and lighting + styling innovations coming out - not to much restyling can be done to make it still look american and not like the competitors. the headlights and rear quarter panels DO look camaro-ish.. but only cuz the newer camaros and even older Yenko camaro stole that look from our 60s stangs. if anything, this "rendering" or guess at the 2014 mustang is the truest form of flattery and tribute to the original beast with some flare.
i do like the idea of going even farther back and a possible eco4banger as an option lol.. id have to have the v8/v10 tho

our more modern stangs dont have the high rear q-panels that we have grown used to.. but ford did have that look in the past...

I would say that a Chevy guy put that picture together. The car has a Corvette roof and Camaro rear panels. As for the high rounded quarter panels...the 1969 mustang had the high quarter panels, however the crease in the panel squared off the car. I do not remember any mustangs with high, curved quarter panels that look like that awful drawing. Fortunatley, I wont have to buy one.

A retro fox will be in the making, but I believe that design is still 10 years out. Ford is attempting to cycle through the classics and the 69 - early 70's is up next. I believe the will skip over the late seventys, so the fox may not be far away.

Concept is all that is, a concept. Don't stress over it until Ford comes out with a final design.
