The same thing will happen again in July 2016, slightly less than 823 years from now. So what's the big deal?

The Gregorian calendar has an 11 year cycle. Whatever day of the month is on that day of the week will repeat 11 years later. The leap year adds an extra bump day to the cycle, sometimes producing anomalies.
