Moving to Hawaii

I'm in the Army and my next/last duty station is going to be Hawii. Does anyone know what octane rating the super unleaded is over there? I have search but haven't found anything but prices. My current location it's 93 so I'm running a tune for that, I just want to make sure that if needed I will have a tune that won't hurt my car there. Thanks

On base I have only seen 87/89/91

Get ready for a bitch of a time if you are lowered, modded, fiberglass hood, or hood pins, or window louvers..... Recon is not easy to pass....even my lightly modded car didnt pass due to my caster being off .1 with just FRPP lowering springs. Let me know if you need any help out here. I sugest if you are shipping a second vehicle to go through Pasha Hawaii auto Transport....they took great care of the one we paid for to get out here and it was here in a week.

Mine is very modded. I will keep my car registered in Florida, I wouldn't pass inspection in most states. Did you tag yours there? Thanks for the heads up on the fuel and shipping, looks like more tune are needed then. They sell 110 CAM2 down the street from me at the Shell so I have some intresting tunes. What did it cost to ship?

is that your home state? If not, you will have to switch it.....I tried to keep washington myself. You just need to get a RECON cert for the car and disclose all changes kind of thing. I failed that and then found a shop that passed me on the state inspection....even though he never looked at it.

As long as FL is your home state you are good.

I havent got mine tagged here yet, been too busy and not here long enough in one shot to do it. But I will. Tint here wont pass no matter what state your tagged in. One of my guys has NY tags and they nailed him and they are expensive tickets....bout 700 n fines for him just for tint.

Well even if you are allowed to keep your out of state tags, you have to put this blue sticker on the back of your car to indicate the out of state approval and stuff.

Tags are 25 bucks a year though for military....so if you go through recon or pass safety, it is cheap...... and NO EMISSIONS!

Yep, FL is my home of record and residence. Tags and drivers lic all match up. The tint laws are strict huh. Is it just for the door windows or is it all windows? I'm at 35% from the doors back.

your good with 35%. I had to tear mine off as I was 15% on doors and back. 35% on the doors and I think 20% on the back 3 is the limit.

Good to hear about the FL tags. They still have that damn blue sticker you got to get for the car.

no drag strip here. They do have SCCA at the stadium, I havent made it to one yet. They have sand drags but I dont think you want to take the Mustang to that...LOL

The biggest local club out here is HPM

There are plenty of shows and such out here. When you gonna be out here?

From what I read they are converting an ols Navy base to a motorsprts park with something for everyone. They don't seem to hevs a farry that allows for island hopping.

No ferry anymore. They are converting an old naval air station, but it is taking forever. Emilio, it would ccost about 750 dollars to take a car over to another island to race on the dragstrip. Not worth that much to me.

The raceway park only has like rally stuff right now.

I fixed the problem with getting a modded Mustang to passs. I traded it in on a stock Mustang. I now have an '06 Saleen Extreme. Nothing better than a Mustang that leaves the dealer with 550 hp.

I had seen where they are trying to convert an old Naval air base into a motorsports complex. I would love to try this beast out on a road coarse.
