[Sep 19, 2015] Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival (Coronado, CA)

"The Race at the Base" is celebrating its 18th year! Join thousands of race enthusiasts and fans in this premier motorsports event saluting our nation's military. Taking place at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, this two-day event features a car show, military pit crew challenge, test drives, garage tours, vendor village, tours of specific ships, and of course, the Sports Car Vintage Racing series taking place along the tarmac. Those entering the car show, winners get to take a victory lap around the track.
All those belonging to a car club get to park in the car club corral directly in front of all the racing action. Admission is free to active duty military and their dependents. Children under 12 get in free. Retired military and DoD personnel can purchase discounted tickets at their local MWR office. All others, admission is $25 per day or $35 for both Saturday and Sunday. For those going on Saturday, we will be meeting at the Starbucks on 1620 Camino de la Reina at 7:15am and depart at 7:45am.
