2005-2009 shelby gt500 hood on a 2005-2009 gt

This is what I have found on doing the swap.. Anyone else heard different? I am selling my hood and getting lots of calls about this. Has anyone done it?

GT500 HOOD
Original equipment on 2007-08 SVT Mustang

Bolts to stock hood hinges and uses stock hood latch

Includes two hood grill inserts

Fits 2005-08 Mustang GT when used with 2007-08 SVT Mustang fascia. Front edge of SVT hood interferes with stock GT fascia.

Must be fitted and painted to match color of car.

yep there was a whole writeup awhile back on the mustang forums about this swap. you would also need the different grille and headlights too though. I believe the GT500 headlights are shaped different to go with the front bumper..... I could be wrong though.

Nice hood to put on a GT though. I thought about it awhile back, but too much was involved.

Yes and it was very expencive to do it fight u need the complete kit

Its is over $2,000 for the Shelby front end kit minus the hood. I kept my GT hood cuz I have other plans for it. But i know for a fact the Shelby hood will not look right on a GT.
