Deep Tail Light Scratch

I've got a fairly deep scratch on my right rear tail light and im looking at a couple of products, Plastic-X by Meguiars and Novus#2 and Novus#3. Novus has a product that claims to help with deep scratches but im not sure what to get. I have a gift certificate for pepboys and may just pick up some plastic-X and see how that works . First I just wanted to see what you guys think. I'd like to not have to buy a new tail light.

I don't know anything about Novus, but I've seen Meguiars products and they work. So, I would go with Meguiars. Seeing is believing.

iF ITS JUST A SCRATCH i WOULD GO WITH PLASTIC x BUT IF ITS TO DEEP NOTHING WILL HELP BUT TO REPLACE IT...

i tried plastic x today and it "minnimized" the scratch, a little better but you have to look close to see it now

A deep scratch can be repaired. It has to be filled in with a polyester based clear finishing resin. Then sanded smooth down to 2000 grit and then treated with something like meguires. However by the time you are done you prolly spent enough time and money, that you just as well have got a new light. It's worthwhile if you have more than a couple to do or if it's a hard to get item. Just for future reference.
