What: El Cajon Car Show Meet

Where: 198 West Main Street, El Cajon, CA 92020

When: June 30 – September 29, October 27, and December 8, 2010
5:00 – 8:00 pm

After the show we cruise out to Sonic in Santee...we roll out about 7:30 - 8:00!!

WE HAVE A PARKING LOCATION UPDATE. THE PARKING AREA OWNERS ARE STARTING TO GET VERY PICKY SO WE TALKED TO THE CDC AND THEY SUGGESTED A PLACE FOR US TO CLAIM FOR OUR OWN. RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET IS A BIG STRIP MALL WITH ROSS AND A LOT OF OTHER SHOPS. WE WILL PARK IN THE BACK CLOSE TO THE STREET (MAIN ST.). WE WILL TRY THIS AND IF IT DOESN'T GET BETTER WE WILL GO BACK TO THE OLD AREA.

If you have any questions call Amanda at 614-578-7283.

On a side note: I was told by a few people that I was aggrivating tonight (7/21) and I am sorry. Nothing that happened today was in my control so please know that. I was telling everyone the same thing the CDC told me so I was not in any way trying to be pushy or controlling. Sorry about the inconvieance of tonight. I am doing the best I can at this point. I am trying to talk with the CDC to get things going smoother. If you feel I am going about things the wrong way feel free to let me know. I can not get better unless I know what I am doing poorly. Thanks guys.

Just stay in touch with Steve so we can get the car club corral for one of the week next season. Like Steve and Kathryn said, nothing they can do with the lot since its on private property. And the spots across the street is right next to the side walk and might be a better spot, too. We can call that the Mustang Corral.

Your doing a fine job. I know I was irritated by the security guard telling me to move and then ten minutes later letting others park in the same area. That is not your fault. I think the new "Mustang Corral" will be nicer anyway. Maybe we can even get all of out cars lined up and look like a club.

I saw that too. As soon as you moved he let someone else park there. I think it might have been becuase the owner left right after.

I was a little frusterating at first cause it was not what i expected cause there was so much going on but i didnt see anything wrong with anything Amanda did. Anyways thanks so much for welcoming me I have pics from it but i cant figure out how to post them for that matter I cant figure out how to start a new post.

Good to meet you, Dave. Sounds like we will be seeing you a lot for our meet. :top:

As to posting pictures. I and many other upload our pictures to photobucket.com (free site) then there's a direct link for posting on forum. Or, on the home page here, there's a link for posting pictures. If all else fail, yell at Emilio, he could help you.

Starting new thread. Go to the section you want it to be in and there's a new thread button. Press on that, then post away. One thing, if you have something that pertain to only the San Diego chapter, such as events or gathering, post it under the "WS San Diego" section. This way it won't confuse the other chapters unless you want the other chapters to participate too. Hope that helps, any question, fire away.

How did it go last night? You guys go to the new spot? How did that work out?

It didnt work out at all, we all parked where we could in the Ross parking lot... The Corvette bunch kept everyone out of the old parking area.. Sonic was good though.. The strip of spaces facing the street was claimed by the total Fitness (which is on the far side of the lot) and a security guard was there to be sure of it. If we cant come to an arrangement with CDC for parking I suggest we find another venue. To me, its not enuff to just park anywhere and walk the show, I want to feel we are displayed as a club where folks can see us, otherwise why bother.

I got this in a email earlier this week:
"Mr. Ubando,

The Blast from the Past Car Show in Chula Vista welcomes all vehicle types in and around the show area. Every week we feature a specific vehicle theme in the park along with music to match the theme- attached is that schedule.

Again, you are welcome to bring your specialty car as do many others to our show.

See next Tuesday!"

The rest of the show schedule is as follows: 8/3 (San Diego Air-Cooled), 8/10 (J&V Auto-Chops, Bombs, and Customs), 8/17 (MOPAR), 8/24 (Corvette Owners Club of SD), 8/31 (Over the Hill Gang)
