I am James Mills I am in the United States Navy, I just bought my first car on the 15th of June and its a 68 Mustang. Still has the original 289 and the original transmission. I love my car :). Unfortunately, I dont know anything about cars. I want to raise the performance in it while keeping the original 289 in it. So if anyone reads this and would like to help please let me know.

Nice I love the 67/68 body, used to have a 67 coupe. That 289 is a damn good motor and definitely one of the higher revving v8's from that era, its got plenty of potential. Strait pipes with cherry bombs sound REAL good on that motor (what I did to mine) and it only cost my about $150 for everything at a local exhaust shop (bought cherry bombs at pep boys), easy cheap way to get your car sounding good right away. Welcome.

Thank you everyone for the help and advise, as I said before this is my first car and im frustrated cuz im having some problems figureing out how to get it registered out of state and I have to get that done b4 I deploy in less then two Weeks or the bank is gonna take it :(, but anyways im in oak harbor and its a nice little town for classics but I feel as if the help I get from the auto part stores is not enough especially on my budget at this particular time, but if anyone would like to offer more advise at a more direct response my phone number is 614 597 5096 and I usally work till 3:30-4:00pm so anyone can call or text me after that if you wish.
