Looking for ideas on a new Stang

Hey everyone, just looking for some suggestions and advice on what to do for my next Stang. I don't exactly know what I want to do, but what i do know, is that i want something i can customize all around, i'm not one to go with the flow, i need something distinct and different, or, atleast different than most.

I was thinking of getting a 03-04 termi, they cost a bit, but the capability of producing 1000hp is very enticing. I also love the looks and performance and all around sexuality of the stage 3 Roush 2005+, also thought about snatching up a 94-95 for relatively cheap, and dropping in an insane engine, gutting it, racing seats, rollcage, etc. My goal is to soon enter into an AIX club and race but also have it daily driver somewhat. It's what i've always wanted to do, but i still want to mantain the ability to smash any competition on the dragstrip that dares entering the lions den.

Any and ALL suggestions, tips, or advice from anyone who has been down this road, and i know im not the first, won't go overlooked. Thanks again everyone.

03-04 cobra for drivability, but I have to go with a 94-95, but that is just me.

If your looking for 1000HP then that pretty much leaves any mustang open cause that is alot of work. If your talking 500-600 with bolts on then the 04 Cobra would be up your alley. 700-800 with bolt ons then the Shelby would be up your alley. But 1000...your looking at engine, fuel system, power adder and turbo more than anything. Better off buying a Notch and building it up money wise if you want 1000hp. I love my 04 Cobra though and my 04 Mach1 is very nice but not a HP beast. Enjoy...keep researching.-Shane

I think the first thing you need to do is decide what you really want. Because with what you put down, you are split 3 ways and its difficult to give you suggestions that way. But if you want to build a beast from the ground up, I would go with the 94-95 and do as you said, put a monster engine in it. But like Shane wrote, it will be a lot of $$$ to build it that way, but you will have something unique and with plenty of go to challenge most.

If I were trying to be different I would buy a lightning! But if your looking for a car I love the 96-98 cobras, especially Mystic because that would fit your unique requirement. They can do well at the track or down a strip and the 4v motors are very interchangeable as far as their heads/cams etc. Good luck! You cant really go wrong but definately stay MUSTANG.

96-98 cobra would be up your alley too i think. can be had a little cheaper, but i think the tekskid block came out of the 98-01 cobras, these are good blocks and can take alot of power aswell. but if you are looking for 1000hp id get a termi, dump the eaton, and run twins, if you get a termi for 18k, twins 7k, thats only 25k, so far, but you would eventually get into the tranny, and driveline components, maybe go solid axle, or get a 94-95 gut it then put a termi motor and tranny in. 94-95 can be had for less than 5k, termi motor and tranny, bout 7k, or GT500 motor for 13k i think. the way you were talking about being different, a gt500 engine, and drive line in a 94-95 redheaded step child would be sweet.

yeah but the GT500 motor in an SN95 isnt unique, they just featured one in one of the magazines

No, but I hear that ford might come out with a 5.0L engine for sale out of the new one, that would be cool.
