Hi Emilio,

I haven't had the opportunity to check in and offer my greetings to you and the club members. If I may, let me touch on an old subject, the Mustangs by the Bay show last October. Thanks to members like the WS, the show was a huge sucess, bigger and better than many imagined. It was the largest and best we've put on to date. 320 cars registered and approx 300 at the show. Awsome...We were able to increase our donations to our designated charities it was unbelievable, the children of in-service Military personal and the CHP Widows and Orphans fund. "THANKS" so much for your generosity. Even with the acolades about the show we had a few glitches. This was my 1st attempt as Chairman and I learned on the job. I asked the membership for another opportunity to do it again and I'm glad to report I will be asking for your support again in 2012. If you or your members have any ideas of what you'd like to see at the show or suggestions how we can improve, please let me know. I'm always available for constructive ideas. Doesn't mean they'll be implemented but I want your input. And yes, we will be splitting up a few of the classes especially in the newer cars. Watch for the NEW classifications. Save October 7, 2012 for the next Mustangs by the Bay show and Merry Christmas to one and all.

Thank you Ron, we had a wonderful time as usual at Mustangs By The Bay. You can count on us being there for 2012. This is one of our "Must" show for the year.
I do have one suggestion, maybe separate the specialty class, such as the Bullits, into their own class. I notice there were quite a few and they were linked into the signature class, I believe. I think there are enough Bullits to justify their own class. But other than that, I didn't notice any glitches, thought it went real well. Looking forward to the 2012 show.

Danny,

My appologies for not getting back sooner. I've been working on the class groupings. Your group gave me some good ideas some of which we were allready working on. In fact splitting the Specialty & Shelby classes were top on the list. After the applications were in last year, it was obvious those two classes was over loaded. Unfortunatly it was too late to make a split as trophies had been ordered months before along with a few other issues, we were stuck with what we had.

I've looked at ALL the classes with most of the changes occuring with the newer cars. Changes for next year are based on the cars we had the previous year. Not everyone will agree with the adjustments.

I've recommended splitting the Bullets, Shelbys, Roush, Saleens, Boss & GT/CS, the 05-09 GT & NON-GT modifieds and combine 05-09 GT & none GT (Stock & Personalized). We'll see how that works for this year.

A reccomendation was to have an ULTRA modified for 05-09's. That's not going to work as I'd need a similar group for each class. As I said before, there's no way to satisfy everyone without having a 100 classes and that's not practicle.

These ideas haven't been finalized but are in consideration. We'll see if they hold up.

Ron, your recommendations sounds good. I believe it will definitely work better for those classes. And you're right, can't satisfy everybody, but I think its the best resolution. Looking forward to this year's show. Please let us know when the applications will be available. Thanks.

Danny,

My understanding is, your club is now meeting at KP Ford? When I get the fliers completed which should be in the next couple of weeks, perhaps I could attend your meeting and talk about the show. I know it's still a long way off (7 mo) but you know how time flies...

Yes it is. We have our monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of each month. I believe it starts at 6:30. Get in touch with Emilio and I'm sure it won't be a problem putting you on the agenda and talk about the show.

I'm liking the idea of the GT/CS having there own class. Hell ya!!!

Shawn,

I'm glad you like the idea. last year that group had 7 cars, it made sence...Get more of your buds together so we can perhaps split out the Verts from the Coups...The new car classifications are growing...This makes it very challenging when it comes to classifications. We had 18 newer Shelbys last year so I gave them their own class as well...It's tough but we're trying to make it so more guys will bring their rides. I remember in 2006 I didn't enter my 73 because it was lumped with the 69-70's. Eldy and I campaigned for a year to get a 71-73 class and the 1st year we had 8 cars, talk about being stoked....Yahoo.... Enjoy your input, spead the word...
