Glad to be a part of the Wickedstangs facebook. My name is Ron Gregory, a board member of the Mustang Club of San Diego. It was nice to see the 10 club members that have signed up for our show Oct 2, 2011 at the Marina Park North on the Embarcadero at Seaport Village. I'm the chairman along with a host of people as you all know that it takes to put on a show of this size.
This yr we're hoping for 350 cars and your sign ups go along way to help us achieve that goal. The charities that benefit from the show are the La Mesa VFW 1774 and the CHP Orphans and Widows fund. Helping children of active E4 and below with toys for their children.
We have a couple of special attractions this year in addition to the 150 trophy awards we'll be giving out in 44 classes. We have club member Bob Fria's first produced 64 Mustang coupe. Rarely shown on exhibit. Firestone tires is bringing one of their Indy cars for photo ops. They have donated 2-$500 tire certificates to a lucky raffle winner. Boy scouts are preparing food, we have things for the kids to do and a first for the club; the presentation of the Lee Iacocca award to a mustanger best symbolizing the Mustang hobby.
On Saturday night before the show we are having a no host dinner buffet at the Casa Guadalajara restaurant on Taylor street in old town. Meet and greet at 5PM, dinner at 6PM. We'll be in the Courtyard room. Tell them you are with the Mustang group or enter off the parking lot.
We're looking for a great turn out, hope you all can attend. The final date to sign up for the show is September 23. Entry fee is $30, not bad in todays market. Applications can be picked up at
Kearny Pearson Ford, Rapid Transmission, Mustang Shoppe, RPMM, CPR, Pat Smiths Custom Cars, JBA and in Escondido at the DMC "Chrome Shop". You can find the application at www.sdmustangs.com We look forward to your participation. I can be reached at 661-619-6261
if you have any questions.
