My 06 GT is getting painted! (PICS)

Well the GT is now at the body shop. Next week they will start working on it. I am getting a complete new black paint job, a Super Snake style flat black racing stripe, GT500 KR style hood vents in my stock GT hood, my antenna is being shaved, and every little door ding etc.. is getting repaired. She will be better than new!!! Heres a pic of it on the flat bed heading to the body shop. I stripped it all down myself, saved $500 on labor costs... Ill post more pics on this thread of the progress as well as the finished product.

Been around... just getting deployed a lot and busy with other stuff. Trying to get the CV up and running again. Ill take a trip down to SD soon after I get my car back. They will prob have it for a month. But I go on transfer leave in early Jan for 30 days. Prob drive down then.

Should be posting some pics of the progress this weekend... Im going to go to the shop on Friday and see how its coming along. But in the mean time as I said, my antenna is getting shaved and that is because I am planning to mount a 32GB 10.1" Toshiba Thrive In my stock recievers current location in my dash. My new Tablet is being shipped right now. Im going to have all my music on it and it will be tethered to my phone so I will have navigation and internet too. Im also going to get the OBD II Proscan Software and interface on it. Should be a fun install!!

Last but not least... Got a 10 rib Steeda belt drive on the way. With a polished snout and 13 psi pulley. This will allow my blower to run on a dedicated 10 rib belt and the rest of my accessories run on the stock width belt. No more belt slip for me....

The GT got painted last night and they were in the middle of wet sanding and getting ready to buff it out when i stopped by. They also started the custom fabrication on my hood. Once thats done and the hood gets painted, they can start laying out the flat black stripe

Thanks everyone! Went to the body shop today, she was all buffed out and they were getting ready to hang the bumpers so they can start laying out the stripe. Hood still needs a good amount of work before completed. Ill post some more pics soon!

Gotta love the pics of the prep work and all the wet sanding. Painting is the easy part; prep is where the pavement hits the road. Cant wait to see the finished product.

My hood is almost ready for paint! This is the fiberglass pocket that my functional heat extracting louvers from Tru Fiber will sit in. Cant wait to see it when its done!!!
