SDRev is going to be holding the Formula Build racing series in SD next year. Some of you may remember it as the Grassroots Motorsports San Diego Grand Challenge from last year. It was covered on the Speed Channel as well as a bunch of magazines and local news. The series is based upon budget-limited class racing. Each team gets $2000 to buy *and* build a car to compete in a championship season with three drag events (Barona), three autocross events (Qualcomm) and a judged car show for points.
Last year, there was one Mustang (Team Cone Killer), a Fox running a 50 shot. They actually grabbed podium finishes at the drags, but the guy had never tried cornering in his life and he was slow on the autocross track.
Does anyone have a project or low-budget Mustang they are interested in running in next year's competition? I would love to see some Pony cars whup on the imports. A 1989 BMW 325i won last year; it seems like a nice Fox could do way better than that, even with only $2000!
