As many of you know, we are a Charter member of the Southern California Car Club Council. Being a member of this council brings with it many benefits. Benefits such as having event insurance, networking with other clubs, legislative updates, and belonging to a non-profit corporation (501-3/C).
We are already seeing the networking part coming into play as we have been invited to be part of the Encinitas Cruise Night and have spots for us in the middle of the show on Hwy 101. The other, I just received notice is the council application for non-profit organization has been accepted in California and has received our California EIN number. The council is still working to get our Federal non-profit designation, that process is in the work. I will update everyone on any new development with the council.
Here's the email I like to share with the members:
"To all members of our council. Since the beginnings of our council one of the main goals in our By-Laws was to seek and acquire a 501-3/C non-profit status. We have now attained a portion of what we are seeking and have filed the next round of paperwork for our federal ID number. To gain a full non-profit status takes a lot of work, time and paperwork. We are continuing on toward our goal, in the meantime we will post the results of our California non-profit status and EIN on our website.
SCCCC has completed the California non-profit corporation. "
