Orange, I got a 302 block just sitting here that I would donate....and I gave a C-4 that you can run til it breaks........

Gib

the problem with this older block is its to much work to get a roller cam in it... be better of starting with a newer block with at least a stock HO roller cam

get rid of the mod motor, get rid of the 400, hell if you have an aftermarket fuel system in the car but plan on staying under 500hp, **** it get rid of that too!, the stock fuel system is plenty with a good fuel pump. instead put all that money towards a healthy 302 shortblock, some nice aluminum heads, matched intake, matched cam, good meter, necessary injector size and a good tune.

to me it makes no sense to even think about a 1000hp fuel system and have a 300-400hp engine. use that money towards something else until you actually have the money to get there ! same with the rest of the setup, it has to be planned out first financially.

Emilio, end this madness and give the direction you want the car to go in.

Working party tomorrow needs to already have a direction and a certain level that you want to accomplish at it. Right now having 2 engines and working 2 different ways is going to kill any progress. PICK A SETUP! Then stay with it. Dont change until the car is running on the track. at that point make changes and build up another engie for when we break the one that is going in it now.

I think the most cost effective setup would be to get a chiltons manual with the wiring schematics for the Mod motor. Then wire the thing up. Get the car on the track. You are an ET, I also deal with electronics, We have an MR and a few engineers too........WTF are we waiting on. I am with Bobby, GET IT DONE AND STOP BSing.

Whatever direction, I'll be there tomorrow. If nothing else I'll have a few beer and grill some beef.

i can probably build a badass motor off the junk yard using your chinese tools, your sunday garage sale pile, with half of your weeks pay check too and still be able to finish in time to beat your 04 cobra at qualcom on the next race with a massive hang over.

Another NHRA crew chief who hasn't made his way to the big time yet. Wish we all had your talents and expertise.

Race Car

Why wont the MOD motor work? Do you have a harness? is this car going to be on the street or just a simple track car? The 400 block seems like fun project but looks like it will be costly with a ton of trial and error- I thought you wanted the car done by March or something...... Just my .02

I think the MOD motor is the way to go for now... you guys arent smoging this thing so throw that motor in there... I see your on the mod mustang form that pops up at the top of the form page... its not much harder then converting a 4 to an 8... so go for it.. start searching Ebay and get the ball rolling
